Hey there!

Leaning Into Discomfort: Where Growth Begins

Sometimes the breakthrough hides inside the messy middle.

We’ve all heard that old joke: a patient walks into the doctor’s office and says, “Hey doc, it hurts when I bend my arm like this!” The doctor replies, “Then stop doing that.”
It’s funny because it’s true — as humans, we’re wired to avoid pain and discomfort. But here’s the catch: real growth never happens in the comfort zone.

What if discomfort isn’t a barrier, but a bridge—to confidence, resilience, and clarity?
Athletes don’t grow stronger by doing one hard workout. We don’t overcome anxiety by dodging the things that scare us. We build strength by moving through discomfort, not around it.
That’s where your true power lives—the moment you realize, “I can handle this.”

If we're growing, we're always going to be out of our comfort zone.

We often treat discomfort like something to fix or escape. But the truth is, every breakthrough starts in the messy middle. Growth isn’t linear—it’s a dance between consistency, grace, and flexibility.

It’s easy to beat ourselves up when things aren’t “perfect.” Whether you’re navigating a new job, a tough conversation, or shifting family dynamics, remember: the discomfort is a teacher. It’s how you discover what aligns, what doesn’t, and what deserves your energy moving forward.

It's where change finds you.

What is something in your life where you can find yourself being in the messy middle?

The Stretch Zone Challenge

Instead of asking, “How can I make this go away?” try, “What is this here to teach me?”
Picture yourself like a rubber band—stretching builds strength, snapping sets you back.

This week, choose one small way to stretch: share a new idea, reach out to someone you admire, set a boundary, or try something that scares you. Growth doesn’t always look graceful—but it’s always worth it.

What's one area you're longing to grow in, even if it feels a little messy?

💛 Becoming My Best Self

Embracing discomfort has been a journey for me. I used to believe productivity equaled worth—that being busy meant being valuable. The first time I gave myself permission to rest instead of hustle, it felt so uncomfortable… almost wrong.

But that moment of pause taught me something:

Rest is not weakness—it’s recalibration.

Now, I see discomfort as a sign I’m on the edge of growth, not the end of my capacity.

📚The Hustle + the Heart

Speaking of growth and discomfort—my daughter had her first homecoming, and I couldn’t believe how grown she looked. (Cue proud-mom tears! 🥰)
I’ve also been attending some incredible local networking events and connecting with powerhouse women around stress management and self-care. So excited for what’s coming next. Stay tuned!
